Marhaba !!
It’s been ages following my last blog entry. Alhumdulillah, Ramadan went by easily and I kept my word by posting every day Ramadan indulgences on my FaceBook page. To let you folks know, I am in India for vacations. It’s been a week since I came to India. The rainstorm are making me feel languid and makes me need to rest throughout the day. I don’t know how the day goes by so fast. From the time we have come, we have been going to gatherings like there’s no tomorrow. I am certain to pick up kilos before I leave for Saudi.
Anyways, getting down to todays recipe. I have been attempting to make unfried chicken recipes lately. This one specifically is dads top pick. A Chinese form somewhat sour, sweet and hot. Here’s the recipe; Ingredients:
350 grams chicken, with bones
1-1/2tsp smoked paprika
Salt and Pepper to taste
3/4 cup refined white flour
Ingredients to make sauce:
1/2 cup water
Pepper, loads
1Tbsp oyster sauce
1Tbsp soy sauce
1Tsp worcestershire sauce
1/4Tsp vinegar
1Tsp hot sauce
1/4Tsp hot paprika
1/2Tsp sugar
2Tbsp chili ketchup
1Tbsp ketchup
1 green chili, finely chopped
Method:
1. Clean chicken and transfer it to a bowl. Marinate chicken with salt pepper and paprika. Keep aside for 20mins.
2. Dust the chicken pieces with white flour and keep them on a prepared baking sheet. Spray oil onto the chicken pieces and bake in a preheated oven for 30mins.
3. In a small sauce pan, add in all the ingredients for the sauce and cook on medium high heat for 5mins. Transfer it to a mixing bowl.
4. Add in the cooked chicken pieces into the prepared sauce mixture and toss well.
5. Now, transfer the sauce coated chicken pieces onto baking sheet and bake in the oven for 15mins. Serve immediately with rice.
(If you have the sauce remaining after coating the chicken, then toss the baked chicken into the sauce before serving).
Ma’Salama !!
